Known as the Diamond Wedding Anniversary, it was first associated with 60 years of marriage during Queen Victoria's reign (English Monarch) She celebrated her 60th Jubilee as a Diamond Jubilee and it became fashionable with high society to celebrate this anniversary as a diamond anniversary hence the tradition caught on.
