Father's Day

Father's day is believed to originated in Spokane, Wash. in 1910. The original idea is attributed to Mrs John Bruce-Dodd. Father's day became a national celebration for the first time in 1924.

Today it is celebrated on a Global basis and is a day when children give presents, flowers, and cards to their Fathers to express their appreciation for having such a great dad.

The idea behind Father's day is not just for paternal fathers however it is also for anyone who has acted as a father should they need not be blood related.
