Historically Famous Floellas

St Flora along with St Mary are honoured on 24 November for their refusal to give up their faith during the persecution of Christians by the Moors in Spain. They were beheaded in Cordoba in 851.

A later Flora (of Beaulieu) was a sister of the Order of St John of Jerusalem, near Rocamadour in France, but the strange accounts of her spiritual life are uncertain. She died in 1347.
