Silver holloware is the modern anniversary gift symbol for the 16th Wedding Anniversary. The belief about this anniversary is that it is the time when the couple’s love and commitment to each other have become like a silver ring – strong, unbreakable, and precious.

Silverware and silver holloware are both made from 925 sterling silver, but they are used for different purposes. Silverware is flatware, which includes cutlery and other metal utensils, such as forks, knives, and spoons. Silver holloware, on the other hand, includes vessels such as water pitchers, gravy boats, tureens, teapots, and other metal tableware such as candlesticks and napkin rings. These items are typically given as wedding gifts to couples to outfit their dining tables. Hollowware is constructed for durability and consists of a thicker silver than most other metal items.

Knives are made with a different process, where the knife handle is hollow, and the stainless steel blade is secured partially inside the hollow handle of the knife with an epoxy.
