How To Celebrate A Wedding Anniversary On A Budget

One of the best things about being married is celebrating your anniversary. It’s a time to reflect on how far you’ve come and to relive all of those happy memories from your wedding day. But if you’re like most couples, you probably don’t have a lot of extra money lying around to spend on a fancy celebration. That’s where this blog post comes in – I’m going to share some tips on how to celebrate your anniversary on a budget. So read on, and get ready to plan an anniversary celebration that both you and your spouse will love!

I think wedding anniversaries should be about spending time with your partner as opposed to just spending money, and that’s the spirit I tried to keep in mind when figuring out how to celebrate our anniversary on a budget.

Finding a way to satisfy all your needs without wasting too much cash can be very difficult. All you want is a fun anniversary celebration with your spouse, but it seems like everything costs tons of money. Fear not as you can enjoy your anniversary together without breaking the bank. This is my guide to celebrating your anniversary on a budget.

1. A Picnic

Picnics are a great way to celebrate any anniversary. Just the two of you sitting on a blanket enjoying each other’s company. You could go to a park or beach or even your garden. If the weather is bad just put a blanket down on the floor inside and have an indoor picnic.

You can even have an evening picnic and watch the stars coming out. Very romantic.

2. An Anniversary Breakfast

You could have breakfast in bed together or go out to a café as it is much cheaper than having a meal in the evening. There are delivery services available in lots of areas now that will deliver a breakfast so you’ll not have to cook either!

3. Celebrate with a Meal Out

Go out to dinner at an inexpensive restaurant. Don’t worry about going somewhere fancy or expensive – just find places in your area that offer deals like two-for-one specials or free appetizers with entrees. You could even keep a lookout for vouchers and coupons which can offer great deals.

4. Go Camping

Why not spend some quality time together outdoorsy-style? Go camping or hiking! It doesn’t have to be expensive, either. Just find a nice spot in nature and enjoy each other’s company. Make sure you pack plenty of water and food and bring warm clothes in case it gets chilly at night.

5. Cook A Romantic Meal

Spend your time together cooking a delicious meal and making sure there are enough candles on hand to light up the entire room. Add flowers in vases or bowls around for an extra touch of romance, then enjoy dinner while enjoying each other’s company!

6. Homemade Pizza Night

Why not stay in and have fun making a homemade pizza and then settle down in front of the telly and watch a romantic film together.

7. Takeaway, Wine And Movie Night.

Order your favourite takeaway and make sure that you have a nice bottle of wine to settle in for the night to watch a good movie.

8. Spa Night

Have a pamper evening at home and enjoy spending time together. Wear nothing but a robe and slippers to enjoy a relaxing evening. Put on some peaceful, calming music and spoil each other. You could make face masks together, share a bubble bath or give each other a relaxing massage.

9. Games Night

Games nights can be really good fun. All you need is a pack of cards or a good board game. Maybe a nice bottle of wine or your favourite tipple. It can turn into a drinking game or even more daring a sexy game.

There are plenty of games on the market now to heat things up, but if money is tight, you could always just stick to card games or play truth or dare. You can even make your own games up.

10. Romantic Walk or Drive

Going for a lovely walk costs absolutely nothing. Look round your area and see which walks are available. Whether it be in a park, forest, by the river or sightseeing in your town.

If you would rather go for a drive, plan out a route that you think will be romantic and mean something to both of you. You can make it perfect by visiting places that you have been together and reminisce over old times. Maybe places like where you first met, got married or your first house together. You could even make a bucket list of where you would like to go together in the future.

Final Thoughts

Just because times are hard and money is tight doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate an anniversary. If anything, it means that your anniversary should be extra special instead of just another day. Anniversaries are very important and should be celebrated turn this into a new tradition by incorporating the ideas we’ve laid out above. You might just come up with something that feels more heartfelt and meaningful than you might have anticipated. Just remember it is a time to show how much you love and appreciate each other.
